KoçZer’s ZERGO: Turkey’s first B2B marketplace for supply chain management

KoçZer (or Zer) has managed thousands of companies’ procurement and supply chain management processes, with a significant focus on consumer goods, helping clients save money, time, and effort over 20 years.

As the company accelerated its growth, it had strategic plans to create a new revenue stream – one that didn’t yet exist in Turkey and was much needed in the market: a B2B marketplace enlarging their assortment to offer all types of most needed consumer goods for all types of companies, as well as some specialised product categories.

Committed to the principles of “perfection in procurement”, Zer strategized and planned to scale its platform for a new revenue stream with detailed requirements. To help them operationalize the technical needs for a new B2B marketplace, they partnered with Deloitte, who reached out potential technology partners for pre-qualification assessment.

Spryker was chosen as the most suitable partner based on demos and Proof-Of-Concept performances, as well as its ability to meet Zer’s solution-fit needs. Their decision was based on which leader in the commerce industry could help them achieve their goals faster, scaling their business to a new level. Additionally, Zer aims to provide a seamless invoicing and payment process and access to a wide range of products that will cater to the needs of different types of customers.

Spryker’s B2B Marketplace solution proved to be the perfect fit for medium-to-large-sized SMEs, looking to digitize their platform but lacking the resources, as well as supporting large companies that needed to streamline their procurement processes. Additionally, Spryker’s Greenfield platform approach accelerated the development of a unique digital commerce platform from scratch, offering expert guidance to Zer’s clients from beginning to end.

With a robust B2B Marketplace, Zer set the foundation for global expansion with a specified roadmap to follow. By offering a one-system approach as opposed to the two-system approach proposed by competitors, Spryker provided the best platform for their complex needs.

The self-serve model created a revenue stream that strengthens Zer's market position as Turkey’s largest procurement and supply chain management company while further improving customer satisfaction. Spryker will grow with Zer’s needs by adding functionalities and solutions as the company’s needs change.  

At the launch of their B2B Marketplace, Zer already had 100,000 products and support from 50 merchants Over the next months they have continued to expand towards their target of 600 merchants and over 300,000 products. To draw more attention to their efforts, they've launched a marketing campaign showcasing their world-class marketplace called ZerGO
